Imphal, June 28 2013 :
Referring to relaxation of age in some States for appearing in civil services examination, some candidate-aspirants drew attention of the State Government as well as MPSC to initiate remedial measures for accommodating ageing candidates.
Providing documents to illustrate that States like Bihar, UP, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Tripura, Jharkhand and haryana have increased age-limit of candidates in between 40 to 45 for civil services examination, the candidate-aspirants regretted that in Manipur candidates have only two chances to appear in MPSC conducted examinations in their entire life.
Contrary to guidelines of UPSC and MPSC that grants OBC candidates seven attempts and ST/SC having limitless appearances in civil services exam the fact that from 2000 till 2013 possibility of appearing in MPSC exams was limited to twice only calls for raising the age bar.
As goal of MPSC examinations is to ensure deserving candidates get the most responsible post/challenging job age limitation impeding aspiration of hard working candidates is self-contradictory to the MPSC principle, opined the candidates reiterating their appeal for age relaxation.
