On the valedictory function of the 30th biannual sports meet of Maram Khullen Circle Youths & Students' Organization (MKCYSO), Hakikat Singh Jashwal, Chairman, National Thinkers' Forum, Jammu & Kashmir who attended the function as the chief guest, stated "I am a Naga of Kashmir", and shared his affinity with the Nagas.
Sharing his experience with the Nagas, Hakikat Singh said that the Nagas are misunderstood and added that contrary to pre-conceived notions, the Nagas are very affectionate and full of passion.
Hakikat a native of Kashmir, tried to draw a parallel between the situation in Kashmir and Manipur and talked about 'disturbed area' tag given to the two States.
He however did not elaborate on this.
The Chairman of the Thinkers Forum also had a word of advice for the youth of Maram Khullen Circle Youth & Students, and stressed "If you don't deliver, you cannot shine" .
He said this in the context of the point that even if the youth and students have potentials, if they fail to live up to the expectations of the elders and the society, they will make little progress in life.
To the elders, he asked them discuss the ways in which the youth can refine their potentials.
Drawing a line between Kashmir and Manipur, the Thinker's Chairman said that the youth of the two States should concentrate on education, as without it youth cannot be leaders of tomorrow.
In this regard Hakikat Singh appreciated the works of Missionaries in educating the youth especially Don Bosco College, Maram.
At the closing ceremony, Dr Fr KO Sebastian, Principal, Don Bosco College, Maram, also exhorted the youth to work harder and excel in whatever they do.
Dignitaries drawn from politics and religion including A Rang, MDC, R Puba, Ex-MDC, Ng Rang, Ex-MDC, Kaba Philip, Ex-MDC, AK Singh, OC, women leaders of Maram Khullen Circle, social activists, Pastors/catechists, and student leaders were also present at the valedictory function.
The day concluded with cultural items and contemporary musical presentations by budding artistes of the area.
The sports meet concluded with the local Maram Bazar team emerging the champion in football with Khullakpa Sagai team as the runners-up.
In volleyball Matak Sagai emerged as the winner while New Maram was the runners-up and in women's volleyball Khullakpa Sagai clinched the winner while Jaikang won the runners-up.
