Ukhrul PHE Grade IV employees urge for release of salary

Ukhrul, September 27 2019:
Grade IV employees of Ukhrul PHE Department has urged the authorities concerned to release their three years worth salary at the earliest.
According to the employees, a total of 21 employees have been deprived of the monthly salaries despite their hard work and services to public for many years.
One LA Wungayung conveyed that, since October 2016, none of the employees have received their monthly salaries and they have been living under a great financial debt.
Although the salary encashment for Government employees are done through banks, they still could not open their bank accounts due to different factors.
The employees further claimed that the Executive Engineer Braja PHE, Ukhrul had assured to release their salaries within July and August this year but the employees have not yet received their salaries till date.
The aggrieved employees also conveyed that there were more than 120 employees in the department but gradually it was reduced to only 21 persons.
However, no necessary steps have been taken up to replace the vacant posts by the department concerned.
Maintaining that manning the office for the whole district has caused immense inconveniences to them when it comes to performing their duties and their work load, they urged the authorities concerned to recruit new staff to provide satisfactory services to public.
While one M Ngachonmi appealed to all the MLAs of Ukhrul district to intervene on the matter considering the hardships of Grade-IV PHE staff.
