Tribal forum rebuts claim, warns mass stir

Imphal, September 27 2017: Reacting to the claim made by the incumbent Chairman, ADC Tamenglong in a press conference held on September 24 that ADC Tamenglong is functioning, Tamenglong & Longmai (Noney) Districts Citizens' Welfare Board referring to the District Council Manual/Act/Bill questioned as to how an incomplete house can function .

In a press release, the tribal forum stated that no transaction can happen without a full house and any unwarranted transaction of business shall be dealt with in the Court of law .

"The resignations of members of its Executive Committee including Vice-Chairman Guisinang PR and two Executive Members Shanthuiyang Pamei and Kaniangmei Riamei along with Chairman of the Finance Committee, Apoukhui Gangmei and Chairman of the Planning Committee, B Thambou with simultaneous resolution already recorded and submitted of the Members for removal of the incumbent Chairman Namsinrei Panmei thereof is by constitution and convention, a defunct body," it stated .

The tribal forum has warned that it will resort to mass agitation including closure of the ADC, DC, Government officers in the district and National Highway 37 if the State Government and the District Administration does not pay heed to its demand by October 5 .
