Imphal, February 26 2017: BJP Sagolband Mandal active worker, Pougai Dangmei of Keishamthong Kabui Khul was allegedly threatened and thrashed at his residence by Sagolband Kendra MLA and Congress candidate RK Imo together with his security personnel at around 5.30 pm yesterday.

Presenting the injured individual in front of media persons, Sagolband Kendra BJP candidate Dr Kh Loken said that BJP Sagolband Mandal strongly condemned the act.

He said, "It is really unfortunate that a sitting MLA crossed the line and used the security personnel as his own to do his bidding.

It is a grave violation of the model code of conduct" .

"On hearing the news, a BJP team rushed to Dangmei's house and noticed that the accused had ripped the BJP flag from the house of Dangmei's older brother, Raja, and stomped on it", he claimed.

Demanding immediate suspension of the Congress MLA's security personnel, Loken said that a complaint has been lodged at the concerned police station regarding the incident.

"Threatening to kill Raja is an attempt to murder.

If anything happens to him, the Congress candidate has to bear the consequences", he added.
