Societies asked to report for check-up

Imphal, July 25 2022: All cooperative societies and societies/NGOs/Clubs in Kakching district registered under Manipur Cooperative Societies (MCS) Act, 1976 have been advised to report to the District Cooperative Officer (DCO) Kakching for a checking procedure by August 31. In a notification issued by District Level Committee for Identification of Defunct Societies member secretary/DCO Kakching P Dilipkumar, the state government had formed a district level committee to monitor societies/NGOs/Clubs registered under the 1976 Act and the Manipur Societies Registration (MSR) Act, 1989.The Committee will compile a list of MCS Act 1976 Cooperative societies and society/organisations which have been defunct for the past 5 years and societies/ organisations/Clubs registered under MSR Act, 1989 that have been defunct for 3 years, and forward the list to the government with a recommendation for dissolving them.

Thus, all cooperative societies and societies/NGOs/Clubs are to come by the office of DCO Kakching for examination by August 31. Any request after August 31 will not be entertained, it conveyed.
