ernment's tender regarding introduction of cable car service at
Sendra, said Chief Minister Okram Ibobi.
He was responding to a public interest matter raised by
BJP MLA Th Joykishan regarding the projects which the
Tourism Department could not submit utilization certificate in
the State Assembly today.
Although, Thailand based company, M/s Redhill Company
Ltd earlier submitted its tender bid for the project of cable car
service at Sendra.
However, the company has withdrawn the bid due to
change of policy with the election of a new Government in the
South East Asian Nation, the Chief Minister said.
Saying that no firm had responded to the tender so far after
it, the Chief Minister said that PWD would issue a revision
tender soon.
Informing that the said project would be taken up
under PPP model, O Ibobi said that Centre would share 25
per cent while the State Government and a private firm would
share 15 per cent and 60 per cent respectively.
He said that the total estimated cost of the project is Rs
81.81 crore.
The token amount of Rs 10 lakh sanctioned for the project
by the Union Tourism Ministry has been deposited in the
State's account.
Private firms might be reluctant to venture for the project
due the law and order problem of the State and 60 per cent
share.
The Chief Minister said that private firms might be thinking
that the project is not economically viable if they do not get
4000-5000 visitors a day.
