DCC Thoubal, Kakching hold 'Ambedkar Samman March'

Thoubal, December 24 2024: The District Congress Committee, DCC Thoubal held an Ambedkar Samman March at District Headquarter, Thoubal today to protest against the Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks on Dr BR Ambedkar in Parliament House.

After the conclusion of the march, a memorandum was also submitted to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal seeking Amit Shah's resignation.

Speaking at the event, DCC General Secretary Administration, Y Basant said that Amit Shah's mocking of Dr BR Ambedkar, who is the chief architect of the Constitution and also a leader of Dalit in the Rajya Sabha is a challenge to the Constitution and Democracy.

Meanwhile Kakching District Block Congress Committee, as part of All India Congress Committee nationwide Ambedkar Samman Yatra protest submits a memorandum to the President of India through Deputy Commissioner Kakching.

Speaking to the media persons, Ksh Kennedy, secretary of MPCC said that mocking BR Ambedkar, the chief architect of Indian Constitution by Amit Shah is very unfortunate.

The remarks made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah is not only a challenge to the Constitution but also a challenge to every citizen of the country, he added.

He also urged the Central Government to remove Amit Shah from his position.
