Police foil CCpur rally

CCpur, November 24 2019:
The Churachandpur Police thwarted an attempt to organise a peaceful rally, demanding disclosure of the October 31 agreement between the Government of India and NSCN-IM, by Churachandpur Meitei Students Union and CUCO leading to a brief standoff at the outskirt of Khumujamba Meitei Leikai today.
The rally, sources said was planned along with a sit-in, and was schedule to begin from Khumujamba and conclude at Tuibong Peace ground.

As the organiser had not obtained prior permission to hold the rally, the local administration prohibit them from leaving Khumujamba where a brief standoff ensued with the police.
The standoff ended as they were allowed to hold a sit-in within Khumujamba itself.
According to CUCO leaders, a meeting held later in the day was addressed by RK Inou, K Mangang representing Meitei Society, Noioni representing Ima Leimarel Apunba Lup, Abdul representing Jama Masjid Association, Y Babysana representing CMSU, and Y Ningthemjao representing COCOMI.
