Imphal, March 24 2017: Working Committee of Apunba Lup has warned of launching various forms of agitation if the BJP-led Government fails to deliver justice to the fake encounter cases in the State.

Addressing a press conference at the office of TIPS located at Keishampat Junction here today, Phunindro Konsam, coordinator of Working Committee, Apunba Lup reminded that BJP in its vision document for the recently held 11th State Legislative Assembly election had assured to take up all the fake encounter cases and punish those involved in the cases.

He asked the Government to take up steps to punish all those involved in the cases failing which the organisation along with the public will launch intense agitation.

He expressed hope that the Government would deliver justice to the cases at the earliest in the interest of the people.

Maintaining that Apunba Lup has been working to ensure justice to family members of fake encounter victims, Phunindro said that the July 23, 2009 BT Road firing case is one of the biggest fake encounter cases in the State.
