The All Manipur Madrassa Modernization Teachers' Welfare Association has called off its strike after an agreement was reached between the association and the State Government .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Md Abdul Jabar, vice president the association stated that Chief Minister N Biren Singh has assured to look into their demands which include completion of the regularization process of 150 Madrassa teachers and the release of 40 months’ pending salaries for the teachers within 10 days .
He said the association has been carrying out different forms of agitation in pursuit of their demands since long back .
He stated that the assurance was given by the CM during a meeting held between members of the association and the State Government representatives, which also included Jiribam MLA Asab Uddin at CM Secretariat today .
The vice president also appealed to the State Government not to release any fund for WAQF Board until and unless the required processes related to the board are completed .
He also lauded the CSOs and individuals who extended support to their agitation.
