Imphal, April 23 2017: The 126th anniversary of the Battle of Khongjom (Khongjom Day) was also observed at Manipur Sahitya Parishad Bhavan, Hojai, Assam under the aegis of the Manipuri Cultural Society, Assam.

Offering of floral tributes to the photograph of Major Paona Brajabashi, patriotic poetry recitation and a public discussion session were the main highlights of the function.

Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Assam president Dr Karam Ibungohal, Manipuri Cultural Society, Hojai president Laisom Gulap, United Committee Manipur secretary general YK Dhiren, Assam Pradesh Manipuri Association president Yumnam Nayan, Manipur Sahitya Parishad Assam, Hojai District Committee president Ashem Shyamkishore and Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Assam secretary Hijam Pradip Kumar attended the function as presidium members.
