Imphal, December 22 2020: The Kangla Social Welfare Development Association said today that the conduct of some law enforcement personnel on duty at Wahengbam Leikai area has made a joke of the BJP Government's fight against corruption and COVID-19 SOPs.

Some of them on active duty at the said area have violated rules and regulations and are not doing anything to stop auto rickshaws from ferrying more passengers than mandated by the SOPs, said a statement issued by the association and added that so far there is nothing to show that fares from passengers have been regulated.

Alleging that many policemen on duty at the said place are collecting money from the vegetable vendors and auto-drivers, the Association said that this will only make the daily wage earners suffer more during the Covid pandemic.
