Housing scheme beneficiary appeals

A beneficiary of Government of India's housing scheme has accused authority concerned of the Wangoi Municipal Council of holding back the loan amount of about 167 approved beneficiaries.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, the beneficiary, Longjam Ongbi Yumshang Leima said that altogether 167 beneficiaries were approved from 208 applicants under the housing scheme of the Government of India.
The Town Planning Department had on June 24 and July 3 had approved transfer of loan amount to bank accounts of 167 approved beneficiaries.
However, the beneficiaries are yet to get the loans, she said.
Former Chairperson of the Wangoi Municipal Council had earlier appealed the related authority and CM for disbursement of the loan amount, she said.
Most of the beneficiaries who had started constructing houses anticipating the loan amount are suffering.
Despite the assurances they got from the CM on November 15 Meeyamgi Numit, the beneficiaries have not got their loans yet, she added urging Government and authority concerned to look into the functioning of the Wangoi Municipal Council for speedy disbursement of the loan amount to the beneficiaries.
