Mary blames Mizoram press for the mess

Olympic Bronze medalist MC Mary Kom burst into tears in front of State media while clarifying over her alleged inflammatory comment of 'never receiving any support from local media' at a press conference here today.
Mary Kom vehemently denied having said anything about being discriminated by state media during the press conference at Aizawl yesterday after a felicitation programme and charged Mizoram press for misquoting her and creating anger among media fraternity in her home state.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Mary Kom said that she would consult her legal experts for taking up necessary actions against Mizoram media for misquoting her.
Nonetheless, she asserted that in the controversy that erupted between her and L Sarita during the trial for Asian Games the local media did sidelined her and highlighted L Sarita more.
Mary Kom further stated that she also mentioned to Mizoram press that the Government of Manipur awarded her Rs 75 crores for her Bronze medal feat in London Olympics but other medal winners in other states of India were awarded with crores of rupees.
She, however, denied alleging the State Government of not showing concern to her and said that the State Government has given her a good job and is helping her a lot.
Furthermore, Mary Kom stated that "It's because I love Manipur that I still stand today for the state and have denied all proposals from other states to settle in their respective states" and added that she is setting up a Boxing Academy in the state where aspiring boxers all communities can get necessary training.
