Imphal, September 22 2011: The Jananeta Irabot Memorial Trust (JIMET), Jiribam organised a marathon race of 20 kms both for men and women to mark the 115th birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot, reports our Jiribam correspondent.

More than 100 people representing different clubs participated in the race for which Rs 15000, Rs 1000 and Rs 500 respectively were awarded to the first three winners of both male and female categories.

Y Chaoton Meitei of Leisem Club, B Ratan Sharma of Yaipha Lamjing Club and Th Jameson of Sunrise Club of Jiribam stood Ist, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in the make category while P P Naocha of Yaipha Lamjing Club, Th Tombimacha of Leisem Club and M Chaoba Devi of Lamlen Evergreen Club won the Ist, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in the female category of the marathon race.
