Imphal, July 22 2020: Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organized Tree Plantation Drives at Chingmeirong Company Operating Base (COB) and Chanchipur Company Operating Base (COB) respectively on Tuesday.

The Tree Plantation drives were organised with an aim to raise awareness about the importance of healthy green environment amongst the troops.

The event commenced with an informative lecture on 'Importance of Trees to control Global Warming' followed by tree plantation drive.

The battalions planted a total of 610 saplings of multiple varieties mostly fruit, flower bearing and other saplings.

The battalions had a dual aim of Environment Protection and Soil Conservation and also ensuring that it contributes it's efforts towards making the society clean and green.
