State level open symposium competition

Imphal, February 22 2017:
A State Level Open Symposium competition was held yesterday at DM College Science central hall under the aegis of DESAM, as a part of the International Mother Language Day observation.
21 students participated in the symposium competition under the theme '21 suba chahichada Maheiroisingna Mamaleibakkidamak Louga daba Thoudang' where Dr Jodhachandra Sanasam was present as the moderator.
Joyshree Heisnam of TG Higher Secondary School won the first prize for the competition followed by Thoudam Nirupama at second and H Anamika of DMC Arts at third position.
They were awarded a cash prize of Rs 7000, Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively along with citations.
Students and individuals who got 4th to 10th positions were given a shawl and citation each as consolation prize.
M Meenakumari (Director, SCERT), T Phullen Meitei (Additional State Project Director, SSA), Moirangthem Angamba Meitei (president, DESAM), Waikhom Romesh (Assistant Professor, GP Women's College), Thok chom Babulchand Meitei (president, MEELAL), L Joy (general secretary, AMRP SWA) and Dr Thokchom Chandramani (former Chief Resource person, CTEL, CIIL, Ministry of HRD, Dept of Higher Education, Govt of India) took part in the event as presidium members.
