Imphal, March 21 2016: Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and Dy CM Gaikhangam has extended heartiest greetings to the people of the State especially Christian brethren on the occasion of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

In a message, MPCC president and Dy CM Gaikhangam said that the highest sacrifice made by Jesus Christ on his crucifixion is commemorated as Good Friday and his resurrection is commemorated as Easter Sunday.

He wished that the festivals usher in development, peace and serenity, love and prosperity in the State.

Gaikhangam, and Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya have also conveyed heartiest and warm greetings to the people of the State particularly Hindu brethren on the auspicious and joyous occasion of Yaoshang (Holi) which begins from March 23 .

In a greeting message, MPCC president and Dy CM Gaikhangam wished that the celebration of colourful Yaoshang (Holi) brings new hope and vistas to the people of the State.

The festival also ushers in the spirit of oneness, peaceful atmosphere and development in the State, Gaikhangam wished.

Lok Sabha MP Dr T Meinya urged people of the State to shun enmity, ill will against each other with the celebration of the colourful Yaoshang festival.

He also wished that the festival ushers in good tidings, prosperity, development and peaceful coexistence among the people of the State.
