Sit-in protest staged at Kpi

Kangpokpi, February 20 2021:
A sit-in protest was staged today by the women of Kangpokpi under the aegis of Kuki Women Union Sadar Hills at Nute Kailhang in Kangpokpi DHQs, urging the Chief Minister to uphold the Court's verdict on Lhukhosei Zou and not to appeal the case to a higher Court.
Addressing the media persons, Mawinu Kipgen, president Kuki Women Union Sadar Hills, said that the Court had drawn the conclusion that Lhukhosei Zou was innocent and as such he was released after more than two and half years of investigation and examination of all the facts and evidence.
Mawinu Kipgen further appealed to the various valley based civil bodies to stop 'harassing' the former chairman.
A similar sit-in protest was also held at Saikul Sub-divisional Headquarters, Saikul Hill Town by women of Saikul under the aegis of KWU Saikul.
