Imphal, December 19 2021: The affected landowners of 12 villages from Barak to Phaitol village of Tousem sub-division, Tamenglong district, have appealed to the con-cerned Government authorities to release due land compensation amount on or before December 27 with regard to the construction of NH-37.A statement issued by the Village Authority Chairmen Council informed that land acquisition for the highway project was done way back in 2013-2014 under the joint supervision of the concerned Govt departments and in the presence of Land & Properties Owners' Association (LPOA) and the BRO.

Further the statement added that failure to meet this deadline will result in a 48-hrs bandh along NH-37 from the midnight of December 28.The affected party had already appealed to the State Government to release the compensation within the stipulated time.
