Imphal-Moreh bandh suspended

The student's union of Mission Blind School, Heikakpokpi has suspended the bandh imposed along Imphal-Moreh road with immediate effect following a meeting with the Chief Secretary in the presence of Education Commissioner today, our correspondent reports.
Informing media person, Pareng Kom, Principal, Mission Blind School, said the decision was taken following assurance given by the Chief Secretary to take up necessary action for the conversion of the School into a full - fledged Government school within two months in a meeting with the students and school authority of Mission Blind School, Heikakpokpi.
The meeting which was held today at Old Secretariat was attended by Chief Secretary O Nabakishore and State Education Commissioner and Social Welfare Commissioner as representatives of the State Government.
While Pareng Kom, Principal, Mission Blind School, students union Secretary W Angkham, Linda and other represented the school authority.
Mention may be made, the student's union of Mission Blind School had imposed a total bandh of Imphal-Moreh road since the midnight of December 16 in protest against the indifferent attitude of the State Government for conversion of the school into a full-fledged Government institute.
