Arms, explosives recovered

Imphal, November 18 2023:
A combined team of Central and State forces recovered more arms and explosive items from Uyumakhong under Moirang police station in Bishnupur, today.
According to police sources, the combined team carried out a search operation at Uyumakhong on recieving inputs from 5 Sikh Regiment about storing of arms, ammunition and explosives near Uyumakhong village.
The operation was carried out by Bishnupur police, Bishnupur commando, two columns of 5th Sikh Regiment and 234th Battalion, CRPF in the presence of an Executive Magistrate under the overall supervision of IGP Zone II, DIG Range III and SP Bishnupur.
During the search operation, arms and ammunition were found hidden in a roadside drain along Uyumakhong road.
The recovered arms and ammunition include one SLR Rifle with magazine, one carbine without magazine, four hand grenades, one 51 mm smoke bomb, one WP smoke bomb and two pieces of para bomb (2 inch).
The arms and ammunition were recovered in the presence of the Executive Magistrate and they have been handed over to Moirang police station.
