Imphal, October 18 2012: State Governor Gurbachan Jagat conveyed his "deep sadness" over the sudden demise of former Minister, Md Allaudin Khan.

In his message, Gurbachan said that he was a leader of great potential and his untimely demise has left an irreparable void.

Meanwhile, members and staff of Manipur State Minority Commission observed a 2-minute silence at its Secretariat office chamber today morning as mark of respect to the departed soul.

Informing this in a statement, Chairperson of the Commission A Halim Chowdhury stated that in the passing away of Md Allaudin Khan, the minority community of Manipur lost an able leader who rendered his self-less effort towards development of the backward minorities in the state.

All Manipur Meetei Pangal Welfare Association (AMPWA) and Jamlatul Ulama Manipur (JUM) also condoled the demise of Ex Minister Allaudin Khan.
