CADA observes foundation day

Imphal, September 18 2015 : Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) today observed its th foundation day at Lamyanba Shanglen.

The foundation day programme was graced by Minister of Commerce and Industries Govindas Konthoujam, Advocate Y Ratankumar, president, CADA and Ibungsana Ningthemcha, National and international awardee as the chief guest , president and guest of honour respectively.

Dr Ch Narendra, LMS Law College, Dr N Gyaneshwar Singh, psychiatrist, Churachandpur district hospital, Dr Homen Thangjam, Assistant Professor, MB College were the resource persons during the programme.

Speaking at the occasion, Y Ratankumar said that till 1960, producing spurious liquor required a permission from the district authority.

At present, due to illegal selling of drugs and liqour, school going students have also become the victim of substance abuse.

Minister Govindas Konthoujam said that in order save the younger generation from the clutches of drugs and other substance abuse, people need to join hands and collectively work to combat against it.

CADA, Jiribam district committee also celebrated its 9th foundation day at JIMPAL office, Jiribam.
