The District Secretariat Complex which was inaugurated on November 3, 2011 by the then Union Minister P Chidambaram in the presence of State Chief Minister and other cabinet Ministers and MLAs remained incomplete and failed to serve intended purposes till date even after 3 years have gone with no sign of completion as no one was found executing necessary works.
Conveying it in a press release, the team Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) has conducted physical on spot inspection of some important and major developmental works undertaken in Tamenglong district and found the works incomplete.
It further mentioned that only the outer appearance of the Secretariat complex from distant looks complete but interior and closer examination found that finishing touch is yet to take up apart from not starting the important work of fitting of sanitation wares, bathrooms tiles, flooring, electrification etc.
Wall plastering also found cracked and falling in some building, staircase railing, footsteps and side wall tiles are not properly fixed and attached.
Despite this, tiles and other important materials abandoned and scattering on the floor, it said.
In this connection, ZYF has suggested Government of Manipur to propose the Tamenglong District Secretariat which is not functioning even after inauguration three years ago for inclusion in the "Genius Book of World Record" in order to earn the world recognition for such negligence, it added.
