House razed to the ground at Kpi Hqs

Kangpokpi, February 18 2018:
In another inferno at Kangpokpi DHQs, a two storey semi-pucca building at Ward No.1 just below National Highway-2 was completely razed to the ground this afternoon at around 1 .
The semi-pucca building comprising of four rooms and owned by one Lunneo Haokip, s/o of Somang Haokip of Sapormeina has been occupied by three cobblers and their family and a roadside hotelier with his family on rent.
The occupants of the house have been identified as Juginder Das, Brajesh Das, Arjun and Rajender.

No human casualty has been reported in the inferno.
However, all belongings including furniture, clothing, utensils, cash and a few costly items were completely razed to the ground.
The exact amount of the lost properties could not be ascertained till the time of writing this report.
Had immediate and swift action not initiated by the fire personnel of Kangpokpi Fire Sub Station, another two houses belonging to Tinkholhing and Ishmael Panmei adjacent to the house would have also been completely razed to the ground.
The wall of Tinkholhing's house was partially damaged while two water containers with capacity of 1000 ltrs and 500 ltrs of Ishmael Panmei were destroyed by the fire.
Nothing could be ascertained as to how the fire started.
Some suspected that the fire could have started from Agarbattis while few suspected that it might have started from one of the kitchens where the occupants usually use firewood for cooking food.
One of the cobbler's wife who lost consciousness during the incident regained consciousness only after a few hours.
Kangpokpi police, 38 Assam Rifles and the local people helped and assisted the fire personnel in extinguishing the fire.
