Minister Nemcha Kipgen graces Best Performers' Award

Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen graced the award ceremony of Best Performers during the observation of Matru Vandana Saptah and Poshan Maah, held at TRI, Chingmeirong today.
The award categories include Best Deputy Commissioner, Best District Programme Officer (DPO), Best Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) (Valley and Hill) and Best Supervisor Team (Valley and Hill).
Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, Minister Nemcha Kipgen lauded all the award winners and also the officers and officials of the Social Welfare Department who selflessly worked to make the Matru Vandana Saptah and Poshan Maah observation, a grand success.
She reiterated the fact that service to mankind is service to God and as such all the officials should cater to the needs and requirements of the people without any bias and transparency should be maintained while dealing with any of the schemes given under the Department.
Nemcha further stated that Anganwadi workers also play a significant role to ensure successful implementation of all the schemes and programmes of the Department from the grass root level.
DC Imphal East, Rangitabali Waikhom, DC Senapati, Somorjit Salam and DC Kangpokpi, Lalithambigai Kalidass were among the achievers of the occasion.
Principal Secretary, Social Welfare, GoM Vumlunmang Vualnam and Director, Social Welfare, GoM, Ngangom Uttam also graced the award ceremony as guest of honour and president respectively.
Nemcha launched PMMVY and Poshan Maah calendars.
It may be noted that Matru Vandana Saptah is a week-long maternity benefit programme taken up under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.
Under PMMVY, Rs 5000 is provided to pregnant women and lactating mothers for first living child of the family in three instalments.
The amount will be transferred directly to their bank accounts or post office accounts.
Poshan Maah is one of the activities of Jan Andolan under POSHAN Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) - the Prime Minister's Overreaching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment.
