Healthy baby competition held

With the objective to realise a healthy society, District Health Society Bishnupur has organized 'District Level Healthy Baby Competition' at Kiyamba memorial hall today.
The event was attended by DC Bishnupur Neeta Arambam as chief guest; Chief Medical Officer Bishnupur Dr T Manihar Singh as functional president and Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bishnupur Dr N Bino Singh as guest of honour.
The competition was held in three different categories viz 6-11 months, 12-23 months and 24-36 months during which four Doctors and two ANM seated in 4 tables and conducted screening of the babies to choose the healthiest baby.
Malemnganbi of Nambol Sabal Leikai Dagi secured 1st in the 6-11 months category while Wairokpam Binanda of Khoijuman settled at 2nd and Soraisam Jesika of Keinou finished at 3rd.In the 12-23 months category, Keisam Selviya Devi of Nambol Sabal Leikai stood 1st while Leishangthem Sinthangamba Singh of Nambol settled at 2nd and Oinam Lanchenba Singh of Leimapokpam finished at 3rd while in the 24-36 months category, Khungamba Oinam of Leimapokpam secured the 1st position, Ningthoujam Rejina Devi of Kumbi Terakha stood at 2nd position and Yumnam Sinthangambi Devi of Nambol finished at 3rd position.
All the winners were honoured with cash prize and certificate during the function.
Speaking at the occasion, DC Bishnupur Neeta Arambam said that nutritious and healthy foods should be given to the children by their parents during their formative years so that they become a healthy and resourceful individual in future.
CMO Bishnupur T Manihar said that parents must have full knowledge of various diseases that can infect the children so that timely medication and vaccination can be administered to protect the children from all kinds of dreaded diseases.
