Independence Day celebrated

As a part of the nationwide celebration of 68 Independence Day, a vibrant cultural programme was organized at the Assam Rifles High School, Pallel by 26 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South).
The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Brigadier Rajiv Chhibber, Commander, 26 Sector AR in the presence of the teachers, staff, students and parents.
The chief guest exhorted the students to continue excelling in the arena of education and sports towards developing a holistic personality.
He also emphasized on the importance of appreciating the nation's independence which was earned through great sacrifices by our forefathers.
School authorities expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organizing such a stupendous event on the important occasion.
Such functions will go a long way in building the national unity and nurturing the children with exalted values and patriotic spirit.
In another occasion, the 68 Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by 6 DOGRA of 26 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Moltuk, Khengjoi, L Bongjoi and the border villages of Phaisanjang and Molcham.
The event commenced with the unfurling of the Tricolour followed by the National Anthem.
The event included March past, games and culture and a magnificent band display by the band of 6 DOGRA.
The event will go a long way in fostering nationalistic feeling among the populace of Khenjoi Sub Division said the PRO in a press released.
On the other hand, the 68th Independence Day was also celebrated at Sub Divisional Headquarters of Gamnom Saparmeina, Saitu-Gamphazol by the staff of the Sub-Division along with village chiefs, local public and officers in a befitting manner with the hoisting of the National flag by N Surjit Singh, SDO of Saitu Gamphazol as the chief guest and organising cultural programmes and prize distribution ceremony.
