Mutuwa Tomba's 40 years of writing observation commenced

Imphal, January 16, 2011:
The observation of 40 years of writing of Mutuwa Tomba has commenced today at Government Dance College, Konung Mamang, Imphal.
Mutum ongbi Bijenti and LDM Arts Centre, Imphal jointly organised the event which will continue for nine months.
Secretary, Mannipur State Kala Akademi, S Bideshwar and Principal, Government Dance College, Ranjit Adhikari graced the inaugural function as chief guest and president.
Participants offering floral tribute to renowned late writers of the state marked the inaugural function.
Chief guest, Bideshwar released a book of Mutuwa Tomba named �Apunba Masak' as part of the function.
Speaking in the occasion, Bideshwar said that development of literature is important to develop art and culture.
Only when literature is developed, then the various forms of arts will developed in the state.
Artists in the state should display their utmost skill while performing.
Only then they can take a reformer's role in the society.
B Jayentakumar Sharma, Mutuwa Tomba, Thambou Meetei, Rajen Khumukcham, Ibosana Khuman, K Kamson, Doneshwar Konsam, Saratchandra Thingbaijam, AC Netrajit and W Birendrajit read out their poems in the poets' meet held as part of the inaugural function.
