Auto driver found dead with throat slit

Imphal, May 15, 2013:
An auto driver was found murdered with his throat slit at Katomei Village in Senapati district today.
The deceased auto driver has been identified as Kumar Gautam (19) s/o Balkrishna of Katomei Part I, Zamning Valley, Senapati.
According to police, the deceased was found murdered at around 11 am today at a spot in between Katomei and Maram Village.
He sustained deep cut wounds on his neck, left hand and back.
Police said that Gautam used to operate a hired auto-rickshwaw bearing registration number MN-01 Y 7039 along the NH-2 in between Senapati District Headquarters and Maram Khunou.
He was last seen at the parking today along with some passengers heading towards Maram Khunou.
Later, he was found murdered.
However, the auto was found near the dead body.
A mobile phone and some cash of about Rs.100 were also recovered from the pocket of the deceased.
Senapati Police have filed an FIR in connection with the murder case, but so far no arrest has been made.
Local organizations of Senapati district, namely Naga People's Organization (NPO), Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA), Poumai Naga Women, Senapati District Motor Vehicle Owners' Association, Katomei Village Authority, Karong Senapati Town Committee, and Auto Association Senapati have strongly condemned the murder and urged the authorities concerned to book the culprits and deliver justice to the victim.
