Imphal, March 15 2018:
With its building constructed in 2008 is no longer usable, a very sorry state of affairs prevails in Singhat police station of Churachandpur district.
Some individuals have been cultivating paddy as well as vegetables within the premises of the police station.
MANIREDA Chairman and Singhat AC MLA Ginsuanhau Zou today went to inaugurate a newly constructed tribal market shed at Singhat sub-divisional headquarters and he also made an assessment of the existing condition of Singhat PS.
Churachandpur SP, TD Director, SDO Singhat, SDO Saikot and other officials of Churachandpur district administration accompanied the MLA when he inspected Singhat PS.
Although the building of Singhat PS was constructed only in 2008, it looks it can collapse any time.
As such, the building has been vacated.
All the official works which should be done inside the building are being done inside the worn out staff quarters.

The existing strength of the police station is around 40 but the CCpur SP hinted at increasing the strength to 100 if their office building is repaired.
Strangely, none of the police personnel posted at Singhat PS are wielding any weapon because they do not have a strong room.
They are given arms when the situation demands only after bringing the arms from CCpur district headquarters with escorts.
With the main building vacated, the police has no lock-up, barrack, latrine nor kitchen.
After making a spot assessment of the police station, Ginsuanhau Zou told media persons that he would urge the CM to reconstruct the building.
Later, the MLA inaugurated a newly constructed tribal market shed at Singhat sub-divisional headquarters.
The tribal market was constructed at the cost of around Rs 1.56 crore which was funded by NEC/NLCPR during 2010-11 .
Speaking at the inaugural function, Ginsuanhau said that the incumbent Govt has taken up a number of development programmes with the CMs slogan of 'Go to the Hills' in order to bring uniform development across the State.
The Govt has already sanctioned Rs 25 crore for opening a residential school within Singhat sub-division.
MDC Suanchinpao, CCpur DC Shyam Lai Poonia and TD & Hills Director Joseph Pauline were also present at the function.
