Thoubal, February 15 2016: A suspension bridge connecting Kakching Wairi Senapati Leikai and Kakching Chumnang Leikai along Sengmai river was inaugurated today, reports our correspondent. The inauguration programme was graced by Kakching AC MLA Surchandra, Wabagai AC MLA Md Fajur Rahim, Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 3 Councillor N Memi and Kakching Municipal Council Ward No 4 Coun- cillor P Sanahanbi as the chief guest, president and guests of honour. Speaking at the programme, MLA Surchandra said that in order to bring overall development in the area, people should not hamper any project taken up for the welfare of the people. MLA Fajur Rahim said that the bridge serves as an important means of connectivity not only for the people of Kakching Wairi and Kakching Chumnang but also for the people of Kakching and Wabagai ACs. The MLA also assured of consulting the authority con- cerned to construct a pucca bridge in order to provide better connectivity.
