President Ram Nath Kovind who will inaugurate the Manipur Sangai Festival 2017 on November 21 will visit Moirang INA complex.
With Chief Secretary RR Rashmi in the chair, a joint meeting of different departments was held today at the Old Secretariat conference hall and discussed the President's visit and the Sangai Festival.
After opening the Sangai Festival at Hapta Kangjeibung, the President would halt a night at Imphal and he would visit INA complex Moirang the next day before leaving Imphal.
The Chief Secretary also made spot assessment of the ongoing preparations at Hapta Kangjeibung, Khuman Lampak and Lamboi Khongnangkhong, informed a source.
To reduce dustiness on footpaths within the main venue (Hapta Kangjeibung), the Imphal East SP would lay a layer of stone chips over these footpaths with the help of 150 volunteers.
To provide detail information about the Sangai Festival through mobile phones, a mobile app 'MSF-2017' would be launched ahead of the festival.
There will be a heritage park and different stalls of the State at Hapta Kangjeibung while stalls belonging to foreign countries and other States of India would be opened at Lamboi Khongnangkhong.
Khuman Lampak would mainly host children entertainment programmes, added the source.
