Imphal, July 14 2015 :
Ever since the curfew was clamped in the State, the Health services has taken up necessary measures to prevent any hindrance to health care for people living far away from major health care centres in the State, said Dr O Ibomcha in an exclusive interview with Hueiyen Lanpao on Tuesday.
The Health Director also said that specialist doctors are being posted in every district hospital of the State to meet the health care needs.
The specialist doctors are available 24X7 and anyone can approach it whenever health care is needed.
He also stated that during curfew many patients might find it hard to travel anywhere and also the general strikes where protesters block roads can delay the health care services.
In order to overcome the challenges an order was passed and specialist doctors are tasked in every district during curfew hours, continued the director.
He also said that the step is specially taken up to give service to any emergency concerning delivery cases including Caesarean sections in the operation theatres of all the districts.
He also said that ambulance services are available for reaching to the district hospitals.
In query on protection measures for doctors raised by Manipur Medical Council, the Health Director said that there are cases of mistrust and misunderstanding between doctors and patients party and that at times there are many delayed cases where patients are brought to the hospital at a very late stage and in such cases there are less chances of survival in critical cases and doctors are often blamed and beaten up by patients' party.
As such, the Manipur Medical Council's approach is quite reasonable at some point, said the Health Director.
