AMPFA organises training programme on pest management and quality seed production

Imphal, June 13 2022: A one-day "Training Programme on Pest Management & Quality Seed Production" was jointly organised by All Manipur Progressive Farmers' Association (AMPFA) and Chak-hao Poireiton Organic Producer Co Ltd under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) on Sunday.

The training programme was held at Khoirentak Khullen, Churachandpur district.

Speaking as the chief guest, K Thoiba Meetei, president AMPFA stressed on adopting new farming techniques and consulting with farming experts to ensure maximum yield.

Santa Chongtham, chairman, Chak-hao Poireiton Organic Producer Co Ltd, urged people to ensure that their produce does not contain any harmful chemicals and are safe to consume by the public at large.

With a steady increase in the demand for organic products, Santa urged the villagers to focus their attention on growing organic products.

Kh Nimaichand, farming expert, appealed to the farmers of the village to only use chemicals in their soil after consulting with experts.

The event was also attended by L Sanatomba, soil chemist and Tocheison Kom, village chief.

97 farmers participated in the training programme and 13 bags of RC Maniphou, Chak-hao etc were also distributed to the villagers.
