Miscreants torch Jiribam ZEO office

Imphal, March 13 2016: The ZEO office located at Babupara, Jiribam was torched by unidentified miscreants last midnight.

The arson was reportedly discovered by the office chowkidar afterwhich the fire was doused to avert major tragedy.

According to official source, chowkidar L Mohan Singh heard some unusual sounds.

He then noticed the office was on fire.

Fire tenders were alerted immediately.

Portions of the office verandah have suffered damages.

Had chowkidar Mohan Singh not noticed the fire, the office would have been gutted to ashes.

A team of Jiribam police also rushed at the site and assisted in dousing the fire.
