Imphal, January 13 2015: The 'general conference for the welfare of VDF personnel in Manipur' was organised today at the Auditorium of Irawat Bhavan under the aegis of All Manipur VDF Welfare Association.

Wangkhemcha Shamjai, president of AMWJU, N Shanta Singh, adviser cum chairman of All Manipur VDF Welfare Association, L Sotinkumar Singh, secretary, AITUC Manipur, Prof L Sadananda Singh, secretary, Senior Citizens for Society and H Kulamani, secretary, All Manipur Road Transport and Drivers Motor Workers Union attended the programme as the presidium members.

Speaking at the occasion, N Shanta said that the VDF personnel are assigned duties of police commandos.

The Govt should look into the plight of the VDF personnel take up remedial measures.

L Sotinkumar said that the remuneration of the VDF personnel needs revision.

The Govt should meet the genuine demands of the VDF.
