Zalenkot celebrates silver jubilee

Senapati, February 12 2016 : Zalenkot Christian Church celebrated its silver jubilee with a series of events to mark the occasion on Wednesday, our cor- respondent reports.

Established in February 10, 1991 the Church celebrated its 25 years of embracing Christianity under the theme "Far be it from us to forsake the Lord to serve other Gods"- based on the Holy Bible Joshua 24:16. The celebration was graced by MDC Pumtulthang, Sangaikot DCC, ADC, Churachandpur as chief guest while Pastor Jamlet Lhungdim, Twining Gambih attended as the event minister.

Ajaang Khongsai, speaker, Kuki Inpi Manipur; Dr Lalkholen, president, Khongsai Inpi, Churachandpur and Seipi Khongsai, president, Khongsai Inpi, Sangaikot, TD Block attended the occasion apart from village chiefs and church leaders.

Pastor Jamlet unveiled the jubilee monolith and deliv- ered dedicatory prayer while Seisat Khongsai, founder of Zalenkot village presented a traditional folk song during the celebration.

A souvenir in commemoration of Zalenkot Christian Church silver jubilee was released by Dr Lalkholen, presi- dent, Khongsai Inpi, Churachandpur.

A jubilant feast marked the occasion.
