Imphal, December 11 2017:
The Laipham Khunou Youth Development Association (LKYDA) and the Social Development Club, Laipham Khunou have clarified that MPCC was prohibited from holding a protest demonstration on the Framework Agreement at Laipham Khunou as MPCC did not seek any prior permission .
Speaking to media persons at the office of LKYDA today, its advisor Ningthoujam Binodkumar said that it was the local people who prevented Congress party from holding a protest demonstration at Laipham Khunou Mamang Leikai Soibam Lampak, not the Chief Minister or any political party .
If any person or organisation have to use the local ground or the community, they must seek prior permission from LKYDA and the local Meira Paibi group.
This is the norm, Binodkumar said .
People's decision to forbid the protest demonstration was reaffirmed on seeing GI sheets used in fencing the community hall being dismantled for roofing a makeshift hall, he said .
LKYDA and the local Meira Paibi group support any public demonstration on the Framework Agreement but no such demonstration would be allowed in the locality if prior permission is not sought even if such demonstration is participated by the Chief Minister, he continued .
He also refuted ex-Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam's assertion that it was the Chief Minister and BJP workers who prohibited the protest demonstration .
On being enquired about a few people saying that no demonstration on Framework Agreement should be held in Heingang AC as recorded and uploaded in social media, Binodkumar maintained that no such words were used even though some enraged people might have spoken a few offensive words.
