Manipur Hill Journalists' Union (MHJU) and the Editors' Guild, Manipur (EGM) have condoled the demise of Ng Hungyo, the founding Joint-Editor and proprietor of 'The Aja' daily on December 10 .
The Tangkhul-English bilingual daily published from Imphal was founded by Ng Hungyo and his wife Valley Rose Hungyo in 1993, said MHJU in a statement.
Ng Hungyo struggled hard to improve the state of mass media in the hills of Manipur, the union said and added that he hailed from Sorde village in Ukhrul district and he was an inspiration to many journalists for his far sighted guidance.
His sudden demise due to cardiac arrest would create a void among the journalists of Manipur.
The Editors' Guild, Manipur has also condoled the untimely demise of Ngathingkhui Hungyo.
In a statement, EGM said it shares the grief and sorrow of his wife Valley Rose, Editor of Aza who is a close associate of Editors Guild of Manipur and her family.
In losing Ngathingkhui Hungyo Manipur has lost a true son of the Tangkhul community as well as that of Manipur.
Hungyo, by publishing a bilingual like Aza, rendered yeoman's service to the people of Ukhrul and Manipur.
May his soul rest in peace, added EGM.
