Monetary aid extended to van drivers of Sagolband AC

Imphal, August 11 2021:
Monetary aid of Rs 3,000 was extended to around 80 van drivers of Sagolband Assembly Constituency by Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC) under the leadership of RK Imo Singh, MLA of Sagolband today.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Imo said this is a token gesture to enable these van drivers to overcome the tough times during Covid due to Curfew and restrictions imposed by the State, said press release by SCPC.
As many have lost their livelihoods during this period, it was imperative to take certain measures to help the people during these times, he added.
He continued that the initiative of providing monetary aids to van drivers has been taken up,with an aim to support them apart from the activities taken up by the Government.
Any registered school van driver who has not received the aid may contact the SCPC/MLA office and avail the benefits after submitting the required documents, he added.
He also maintained that monetary assistance of Rs 20,000 were provided to the family members of those who died due to Covid earlier.
RK Imo Singh also said that it is his prime objective to serve the people of Manipur and Sagolband and will continue to serve the people especially during these tough times of Covid.
He further mentioned that essential/edible items will be distributed for the month of August from today to 8500 members of the Women Wing of Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee.
Sagolband AC has women voters numbering to around 12500 out of which 8500 women are registered with SCPC Women Wing and SCPC aims to provide these edible items through out the year even if COVID curfew is relaxed.
It may be noted that SCPC has also distributed edible items to around 9,000 households in Sagolband AC earlier and is also focused at all containment areas by providing essential items to all quarantined/isolated houses.
