Jiribam police provide masks

Jiribam, April 11 2020:
The District Administration of Jiribam and Jiribam Municipal Council along with district police personnel sprayed disinfectant at Jiribam Market areas during the short relaxation of curfew in the district.
In view of Easter Sunday and Cheiraoba celebrations, the Jiribam Market and different shops, local vendors were opened from 6 am to 2 pm.
Meanwhile, the district police also distributed surgical masks to the general public who came to the market without wearing a mask.
To ensure that social distancing is maintained by public gathered at the market, the police also made all efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus by making people to walk through a disinfectant tunnel when they visited the market place.
During the short relaxation of curfew, petroleum, oil and lubricants were issued to only vehicles carrying essential goods.
The shops, vendors were made to close at 2 pm exactly and lockdown/curfew was fully implemented again.
No untoward incident happened during relaxation hours.
It might be recalled here that the Jiribam Market was closed since the imposition of lockdown and curfew on March 24 .
