JAC suspends cease work stir

JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO has suspended its cease work strike, which began from March 22 last year demanding implementation of 7th Pay Commission's recommendation, from today.
The JAC further appealed to all the State Government employees to resume their duties from tomorrow while conveying that the cease work strike will continue after the Election Model Code of Conduct is over.
Secretary general of the JAC Laitonjam Biken formally announced the suspension of the JAC's cease work strike from today during a press meet held at the JAC office, located at Babupara today.
He informed that the decision to suspend the cease work strike was taken during a joint meeting of the Central Executive Council, Consultation Committee, Advisory Board and Core Committee of the Council which was held today.
He said that the decision was taken in view of the enforcement of Election Model Code of Conduct since yesterday and some other reasons, adding that the same agitation will resume after the Election Model Code of Conduct lapses.
Reminding that the JAC began its cease work strike from March 22 last year, after meeting the Chief Minister four times, Biken also said that the JAC met the Chief Minister for the fifth time even while the JAC launched its democratic form of agitation.
Biken conveyed that the JAC submitted a memorandum, comprising 12 points charter of demands on February 20 this year, on the starting day of the recently concluded Manipur Legislative Assembly Session and added that the 12 points charter of demand include adoption of 7th Central Pay, including arrears with effect from January 1, 2016, immediate payment of all due DA/DR, establishment of Manipur Staff Selection Commission for recruitment of Group � III employees.
It also included Secretariat Duty Allowance in respect of Secretariat Employees & other Departments, rectification of pay anomalies, revision of minimum wages and amendment and review of All Service Recruitment Rules among others.
