Festival of Hindustani Classical Music held

SEIKON (Academy of music & performing arts), Brahmapur Nahabam Leikai organised the 2nd State Level Festival of Hindustani Classical Music at the auditorium of Shri Shri Balmukunda Dev Music College in Palace Compound today.
The festival was conducted under the aegis of Cultural Function and Production Grant (CFPG) Scheme of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
It was graced by L Devendrajit Sharma, Sangeet Bhushan, State Kala Akademi Awardee; Dr Dhanabir Laishram, social activist & chief advisor of SEIKON; and B Netachandra Sharma, chairman, Academy Council, Lalit Kala Sangam, Imphal as presidium members.
Delivering the keynote address, SEIKON secretary W Bidyamani Devi said that SEIKON ever since its inception has been working earnestly to promote classical music in the State.
L Devendrajit Sharma and Dr Dhanabir Laishram lauded the SEIKON for providing a platform to young artists to develop strong foundations in classical music.
