Thoubal, September 09 2024:
The All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) has reacted strongly to Meitei-Pangal students being allegedly given dogmeat on Wednesday at Wisdom Foundation (residential school), Khangabok in Thoubal district.
Consumption of dogmeat is reportedly prohibited in Islam.
A press release issued by Manoj Khan, vice-president (administration), AMMSO, has claimed that students of the residential school were allegedly given dog meat mixed with the dish/curry on Wednesday.
Additionally, the next day too the students were given some unspecific meat prohibited by their religion.
As a result, AMMSO claimed that the Meitei-Pangal students did not eat their meals for two/three days.
Stating that the student body will not take the matter lightly, AMMSO said that this is not the first incident of this nature and that similar complaints have been reported in the past.
Alleging that this is a frequent occurrence in boarding schools across the State, AMMSO has urged the managing committees operating such establishments to keep a close eye on the matter to avoid such incidents from happening again.
AMMSO has also appealed to the concerned authority and department to take action against Wisdom Foundation.
