Bishnupur, June 09 2022: Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Lourembam Bikram has informed all concerned particularly the citizens of Bishnupur district whose houses/commercial shops and establishments are situated adjacent to proposed roads for widening under Works Department in respect of Bishnupur district.

In a release, the DC also directed the Sub-Divisional Officer, Bishnupur to take up necessary action for fixing boundaries of the proposed width of Right of Way (ROW) of the roads along with officials of Executive Engineer (PWD), Bishnupur and submit a detailed report at the earliest.

It may be mentioned that the Government of Manipur had earlier directed the Deputy Commissioners to take up necessary steps for notification in connection with widening of 79 roads falling within their jurisdictions indicating the width of the roads as proposed by the Works Department.

"4 such roads namely Bishnupur MI road, CI College road, Ward No 4 road connecting NH-02 to Old Cachar road, and Bishnupur Ngaikhong road falls within Bishnupur district", it added.

The DC further cautioned that any encroachment on state land/road found may be evicted under due process of law.
