Imphal, February 09 2020:
For 2000 years, Manipur existed as a well known, independent kingdom and it had diplomatic relations with the neighbouring countries of Ava, Takhel and Tekhao.
"We are descendents of those brave forefathers who wrote a glorious history of Manipur with their own blood and sweat.
It is essential for the younger generations to understand that the Manipuri people, though small in number, were always fearless and highly patriotic", continued the MAC.
Younger generations who grew up in the post merger era (after 1949) have forgotten the indomitable spirit and courage of the past Manipuri Nation and they have been living under the alien as if it is only natural.
Children, youth and students must be informed about their true identity, how Manipuri Nation evolved over the centuries and what are the major causes of the present misery, asserted the MAC.
It said that it's time for all the people particularly youth to be very alert.
"The only way to protect our identity and take our rightful place in the comity of Nations is to free Manipur from the alleged Indian occupation", asserted the Military Affairs Committee.
The MPA was set up in 1987 to fight against India and its military forces to restore the lost sovereignty of Manipur.
Since its establishment, MPA has been waging a war of liberation against Indian military forces.
So far, MPA has fought more than 80 battles with Indian military forces.
In the course of this war of liberation, around 300 people including party leaders, local volunteers and MPAs have laid down their lives for the cause of the Nation.
Seeking continuous support of plain people as well as hill people to the UNLF in its war against the alien rule, the MAC called upon all other revolutionary groups of Manipur not to overlook the fact that identities of each community can be effectively protected and each community can march on the path of development and progress only when all the communities unite together and wage the liberation movement collectively.
It then conveyed best wishes to all fraternal revolutionary groups of Manipur and WESEA.
It further offered revolutionary salute to all those revolutionaries who have laid down their lives, those maimed for life on account of torture by adversary forces, those languishing in enemy prisons, and also all the people of Manipur.
