Imphal, January 09 2015 :
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has urged the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) to put the written examination for the recruitment of Food Safety Officers on hold until a clear criteria regarding 'equivalent qualifications' is notified.
In a statement, the student's body said that MPSC issued an advertisement for the recruitment of 14 Food Safety Officers in State Health Department on October 30, 2014 .
After several candidates submitted their application forms, MPSC rejected 112 candidates citing reasons for not meeting the required qualifications, the statement added.
However, these candidates applied for the posts as the term 'equivalent qualification' as mentioned in the advertisement was ambiguous and they thought that their qualifications fell under this category.
As such, the written examination which is scheduled to be held on January 11 must be put on hold until a clear criteria on 'equivalent qualifications' is notified by MPSC, the statement added.
